New charging stations in Europe and US for the Soul EV

As the number of electric vehicles continues to increase all over the world, Kia has also been making greener moves in the automotive industry, especially with the imminent launch of sales of the 2015 Soul EV—Kia’s first ever all-electric, zero-emissions car for the global market. More Kia retailers and sales offices will soon be outfitted with fast-charging stations for the new Soul EV, supporting our ongoing green efforts as one of the 50 Best Global Green Brands in the world.

This month, in response to the greater demand for charging stations for electric vehicles, Kia installed two innovative fast-charging stations at its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. These new high-capacity 100kW DC chargers are Europe’s first 100kW DC fast chargers, capable of charging the new Soul EV from empty to 80% in just 25 minutes. Kia Motors Europe plans to expand its network of EV charging stations across all Soul EV retailers and sales headquarters throughout Europe, allowing European drivers access to almost 400 charging stations.

Additionally, the U.S. is also gearing up for 2015 Soul EV sales, with Kia Motors America recently announcing that it is installing 17 new DC fast chargers in California to help bring California’s existing network of fast-charging stations to more than 200. These are all a part of Kia’s efforts to remain a globally eco-friendly automotive brand.

The Kia Soul EV will go on sale in 16 European countries and the U.S. later this year. We can’t wait to provide drivers all over the world with greater access to green driving, which reflects our belief as a company to make the world a cleaner, greener place.
