Fast forward 40 years, Kia is excited to mark its 15 millionth cumulative export from Korea later this June. Following the 10 millionth export reached in March of 2011, it has taken only four years and three more months to achieve 15 million exports. Kia Rio has been the top exported model with 2.23 million vehicles shipment so far, followed by the Sportage, Picanto and Sorento. With an ever-growing production network, Kia Motors now has an annual production capacity of 1.71 million units in Korea alone, while Kia’s first Mexico plant currently under construction will add 300,000 units to our global production capacity when mass production starts in mid-2016. Kia’s current overseas manufacturing plants are located in the U.S state of Georgia, Slovakia and China.
