After making steady headway into vehicle safety technology, Kia is proud to announce that the all-new 2016 Optima and all-new 2017 Sportage have each earned the highest designation possible from the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)!

 

 

As a well-respected organization in the automobile industry, IIHS holds some of the highest and toughest standards when it comes to rating vehicle safety. Even with newer, more challenging standards this year, the Optima and Sportage both managed to earn the highly impressive Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) grade.  Both cars emerged with top marks in five test areas – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength and head restraints – as well as high ratings for front crash prevention.

 

 

These results are a rewarding validation of the vigorous efforts of our vehicle engineers. In combination with the Red Dot Design awards in March, this feat demonstrates that two of our best-selling vehicles are as close to present day perfection as possible.
