Sneeuwkettingen voor Proceed 225/40 R18

Hello,

I have ordered a Proceed GT-PlusLine which I believe will come with 225/40 R18 tyres. I have seen online that the handbook mentions that no chains/socks whatsoever can be used in this tyre dimension. If that is true how can a car with winter tyres in that dimension travel in Europe during the winter, especially in Austria?

Does anyone have actual experience with this?

• The KIA Webshop sells snowchains for this dimension under the KIA Proceed. This sounds counterintuitive. (https://webshop.kia.nl/accessoires/winterwielen/0/BZCH110&modelid=141/)
• The Konig/Pewag configurators recommend outside only mounted snow chains (e.g. König K-SUMMIT K23)
• What about socks? This is nevertheless not legal in Austria.
