Kia celebrates 3 million units in China

Congratulations to Kia Motors in China! Together with our Chinese joint venture partner, Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors, we celebrated total cumulative local production of 3 million cars on July 24. This is quite an accomplishment considering that Kia hit the 3 million unit production mark just over 10 years after entering one of the fastest-growing automobile markets in the world.

Fittingly, a grand ceremony to commemorate this milestone took place in front of dozens of Chinese media and was broadcasted live on the country’s largest social networking site, Weibo. The K4 sedan also showed up for the ceremony, grabbing all of the media’s attention.

Specially designed for Chinese customers, the K4 was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show and is just another example of our passion for listening to and delivering on local customers’ needs. Kia has sold about 310,000 vehicles in China in the first half of 2014, and we will continue to strive to accelerate sales and raise customer satisfaction.
