Making its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the 2016 Kia Optima enters a new generation with styling from Peter Schreyer. Two engines will carry over for the 2016 Optima including the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 185 hp and the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 247 hp. New for the 2016 model will be a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with an estimated 178 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. 2015 New York Auto Show Coverage Inside the Optima also gets numerous upgrades compared to the current model, such as improving the interior with real stitching on the dash and doors as well as more soft-touch material.
