Spring golf season is here, and so is the annual Kia Classic

Whenever we are invited to be part of extraordinary moments in sports, we feel nothing but passion and excitement. Continuing on from our sponsorship of major football tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup™, Copa América and UEFA EURO™, as well as partnerships with the NBA and Australian Open, Kia is also the Official Automotive Partner of the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association). This year, we gladly served once again as the title sponsor of the sixth annual Kia Classic, which was held at Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, California from March 24 to March 29.

 

The 144 best female golfers from around the world competed for a chance to win US$255,000 in 1^st place prize money and a new K900 luxury sedan. The Kia Classic has been a remarkable success, attracting a gallery of 60,000 to the course and 250 million viewers watching the tournament all around the globe. Cristie Kerr, an American player with 18 years on the LPGA tour, took home the Kia Classic trophy for her first win in two years.

Mirim Lee took second place.

World number one ranked Lydia Ko finished in third place.
