Many of the biggest names in the music industry gathered for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) last week to celebrate the year’s hottest stars and top-selling albums. As expected, the BBMAs did not disappoint, delivering stellar moments and emotional live performances from iconic artists around the world. As the Official Automotive Partner of this premier music awards event, Kia Motors also took part in the amazing festivities by presenting “Kia’s One to Watch” of 2016. Now in its second year, “Kia’s One to Watch” initiative was created to turn the spotlight on emerging artists in the music industry. Following our work last year with inaugural winner Tori Kelley, Kia partnered with Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan to highlight his impressive journey as an up-and-coming star musician. Prior to his first performance at the awards, Kia and Billboards teamed up to recount Troye’s sensational rise to fame in a five-part video series, revealing an up close look at his life starting from his beginnings as a YouTube singer to his current day status as a Billboard-ranking musician.

 

 

Arriving on the red carpet to pose with Kia’s all-new Sportage and Optima, Troye also joined the performance line-up for the night, amazing the crowds with his hit song ‘Youth’. As this year’s recipient of the “Kia’s One to Watch” award, Troye truly amazed us with his talent and we cannot wait to witness the future success of this extraordinary and promising young artist.

 

 

 

Packed with explosive performances and collaborations from A-lists musicians, the 2016 Billboard Music Awards brought a slew of unforgettable moments to worldwide audiences.
