The first recall affects 2006-2010 model year Sonatas and 2006-2011 model year Azeras, where a rear-cross member could rust possibly causing handling problems. In total, 215,000 Sonatas and 24,000 Azeras are affected by the recall. The second recall affects the 2013 front-wheel-drive Santa Fe Sport equipped with the 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. According to Hyundai, the front-axle shaft might break due to being improperly manufactured. The Sonata and Azera recall is a geographic recall and only affects vehicles in various states that rely on road salt during the winter. The Kia Sorento, which is a sibling of the Santa Fe, is also affected by the recall with 9,300 2014 Sorentos experiencing the same issue.
