Kiaclub Nieuwsrobot Geplaatst 4 September, 2013 Geplaatst 4 September, 2013 Kia’s all-new Sorento crossover was just photographed while undergoing testing in Germany. Here’s what we can glean from these spy pictures. Not much is known about the next-gen Sorento, but it could be slightly larger than today’s model. That size increase could indicate that it rides atop the same architecture as the Hyundai Santa Fe. Hyundai’s crossover is offered in two basic flavors. The Sport model features a shorter wheelbase and only seats five-passengers. However, from hub to hub the standard version is nearly four inches longer, while its overall body is some 8.5 inches longer. The result of that extra size is a more spacious interior. The Santa Fe features three rows of seats. Sport models are powered by either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 190 horsepower or an optional 2.0-liter turbo that delivers 264 ponies. Non-Sport Santa Fes are powered by just one engine, a smooth-running 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard on every model. Will the next generation Kia Sorento mimic what Hyundai’s crossover is doing? Will it feature the same powertrains? At this point we just don’t know but it seems plausible.
