Kia is teasing a new 2+2 sports car concept that will debut next month during the Detroit Auto Show.

The Korean company hasn’t released specific details about the concept yet aside from its seat configuration, but it says the vehicle is ”aimed at delivering head-turning looks whilst providing superb driving enjoyment whether on the road or at the track.”

Designed in California, the car will probably include stylistic elements that will show up in future products from the company. While Hyundai and Kia understandably share platforms and oily bits, the two are working to distance themselves from one another from a branding perspective. Hyundai offers the Genesis Coupe sports car and both the Genesis and Equus sedans meant to be luxury sedan fighters.

Kia’s upcoming K900 shares its platform with the Hyundai’s Equus flagship, but there isn’t a Kia version of the Genesis sedan. For that matter, Hyundai doesn’t toy at all in the sport sedan segment, which could leave a gap for its sister brand to slot in with a more enthusiast-focused product with four full seats.

There’s less than a month left until the press conference and official debut, so stay tuned.
