Hyundai and Kia expect to set a new company best record for global annual sales.

Thanks to better-than-expected sales in Brazil, China and India, the two Korean automakers will sell a record eight million vehicles this year, beating their target of 7.86 million vehicles after selling 6.55 million units in the first 10 months of 2014. Strong demand for the Tucson and Sante Fe crossovers also helped boost sales worldwide.

In the U.S., the Korean automakers’ sales are up four percent to 1,097,250 vehicles through October with Hyundai sales up one percent and Kia sales seeing a bump of seven percent. Despite the increase, Hyundai and Kia are still battling a stronger won that cut into its profitability.
