Redesigned for 2016, the Sorento earned top honors thanks to its improved performance in the small overlap crash test, taking its rating from poor to good. Information taken from the crash test dummy indicates a low risk of injury in this type of small overlap collision, unlike the previous Sorento which showed a high likelihood of serious injury. Thanks to its optional forward collision alert, a basic rating was given to the Sorento for front crash prevention.
