Kia Optima Sportwagon Makes an Early Appearance on the Web

Photos of the Kia Optima Sportwagon have leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

First previewed by the Kia Sportspace concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, the production model keeps a similar footprint and overall design, although the front end isn’t as aggressive as the concept. Still, the Optima looks quite nice in wagon form. Unfortunately, there’s still no word if it will be offered in the U.S., but it seems unlikely considering how weak wagon sales are stateside.

Although specifications and engine offerings will be revealed early next month when the Kia Optima Sportwagon officially bows in Switzerland, it is expected to offer a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with around 250 horsepower. Also in the works is a plug-in hybrid variant featuring the same hybrid powertrain that recently debuted at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
