Kia Compares the Stinger GT to a Porsche Panamera V6 and BMW 640i

There’s a good reason why the Kia Stinger has been named AutoGuide.com‘s Car of the Year.

Recently, at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the Korean automaker rolled out its new Kia Forte and proceeded to compare the compact sedan to a Lamborghini Aventador. The hilariously cheeky video even had the Forte pitted against the Italian exotic on the track – but both cars were sitting still. Now, Kia has released a more serious comparison video, pitting the Stinger GT against the Porsche Panamera and the BMW 640i Gran Coupe M Sport.

The company called on AMCI Testing to conduct a series of performance tests that reviewed acceleration, cornering, the slalom, and a closed-course lap.

Naturally since Kia is promoting the video and sharing it on social media, it’s obvious which vehicle is best in the comparison. But you might be surprised to hear some of the results, especially considering how much more expensive the competition is. We would be more surprised to hear consumers cross-shopping the Stinger GT with the Panamera or 6 Series Gran Coupe, but it does show just how good the Stinger GT really is.
