The 2019 Kia Soul has been photographed in a parking garage in Korea, giving us our best look yet at Kia’s next-generation version of the squarish little crossover.

The photos, taken by a Motorgraph forum member, reveal the 2019 Soul’s front daytime LED running lights and four front fog lamps. The new Soul’s front end also appears rather similar to the 2018 Hyundai Kona’s, with narrow LED daytime running lights and a narrow mailslot-style intake that is joined by a large lower grille section.

To our eye, the side profile looks almost identical to the current Soul. The vertically mounted taillights seen on the current version also make a return out back, but this time they appear to be LEDs. The most interesting styling aspect seen here, in our opinion, is the center exit exhaust. The new Soul appears to wear this sporty feature well, so let’s hope it appears on North American versions of the crossover.

AutoGuide caught the 2019 Soul testing in snow conditions earlier this year, fueling rumors that the new version of the crossover will be offered with all-wheel drive. Kia also made it clear it had rugged off-road ambitions for the Soul when it debuted the AWD Trail’ster concept at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

As far as engine options go, we’re expecting the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine offered in the Hyundai Kona to appear in the new Soul, along with the seven-speed dual clutch transmission. It’s always possible Kia has less obvious powertrain plans in store, however.

We’re expecting the 2019 Kia Soul to debut sometime later this year before going on sale in early- or mid-2019.
