WaitingforKia Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 hello all, I hope you don't mind me posting in English, I'm still working on Dutch. Last February, we ordered Kia Sportage HEV GT Plusline with indication of delivery of 8 months. We haven't heard anything from Kia except auto emails stating that car is not produced yet (no chassis number). In the meantime, I see other opportunities rising in auto market with good price deals and quick delivery times. I'm thinking whether it's wise to cancel the order. Has anyone gone through it or give me any advice? - I know that according to BOVAG terms and conditions, I need to pay 15% penalty if I cancel my order. - However, I can't wait the car forever. If it's not delivered in October (which is due 8 months), do I have right to void the contract? What steps do I need to follow to do that? Thank you all in advance Quote
Wim-A Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 As far as I know you can cancel the order because of late delivery. You would not be the first. And a penalty: I don't think so. Quote
Murcielaygo Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 Geplaatst 27 Augustus, 2023 The only true answer should be in your contract. If there's a hard date and it's passed you might get away with canceling. But if it's only an indication, it might not be as easy.As I read your message I'm thinking you're going to get a penalty if you cancel now, as it's not October yet and the car is indicated to be available then. But if you've specced the car in a fairly standard way, the dealer might let you cancel without cost, as they can probably sell the car pretty fast anyway.Or you might want to look into the possibility of selling your order.
