Almost ten years ago, Kia was inspired to try something new. Innovation has always been our forte, so ‘trying something new’ actually wasn’t very new to us. But this time, it felt different. We were inspired by the style and practicality of the SUV, but wanted to build a car that carried versatile DNA and riding comfort of a sedan. All of this inspiration gave birth to the Kia Soul, which was first introduced as a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) concept car at the 2006 North American International Auto Show as the brainchild of collaboration between our design studios in California and Korea. Since then, we’ve proven that innovation isn’t just a one-time affair—for us, in…

Over 4 days, from January 7 – 10, Las Vegas was hit with a dizzying display of tomorrow’s high-tech gear and gadgets. The Consumer Electronics Show is no auto show, but that didn’t stop Kia from stealing the spotlight in Las Vegas this past week. The CES provides the perfect platform to showcase the future of automotive technologies—so it’s no wonder that everyone had their eyes on the Kia booth. Consumer Reports stopped by and made note of our bigger-and-better display specs (as mentioned in our previous post), calling it “the big-screen car cabin of tomorrow,” while Left Lane was impressed by our “next-gen infotainment systems.” So if the CES 2014 isn’t an auto show…

The joys of the celebrating a year’s end includes savoring the fruits of your labor and contemplating reasons to be thankful. Most of us can agree that we often owe our gratitude, among many other things, to the relationships we have with those around us. Kia cannot agree more. The Kia Forte K3 (known as ‘Cerato’ or ‘Forte’ in many overseas markets) had the honor of garnering not just one, but three major auto awards this past December in Singapore. Take a look at how the Kia Forte K3 won over the auto industry’s heart this past year.
