for me the removal was just a bit difficult, I broke one clip, because the instructions said that you should push down towards the hood, but instead I was supposed to pull up the top part towards the roof so that the top clips release. I managed to glue the broken clip back.

I've read about this issue a lot on foreign forums. Hopefully it has been fixed with a engine software update, but the if not, the other forums say that the solution is NOT to drive it in high revs for a long time like a diesel DPF, as petrol-engine filters work differently, so that in petrol cars (like the Sportage) you are supposed to accelerate to around 4000 rpm or more, and then release the throttle, let car coast and the engine get to around 3000 rpm and then repeat until the message goes away.

It says there that models build after 2023 have the keys with the sleep function, so these batteries would only help older models and models from 2023 onwards do not need them

Sure, whoever wants it just send me a private message with your email and I'll send it. I've installed it and it seems to work ok, no problems the last few days, but obviously you install at your own risk I dont want to post it here because I don't know if it has been officially approved by Fitcamx, but happy to share by email whoever is interested.

Does anybody have tips for driving the HEV, to maximize the use of the electric power? For example, when driving in the city I usually put the speed limiter on, which I found helps limit the petrol engine coming on, as the gas pedal input is consistent. Do you have any tips and tricks?

I have just bought these lights for under the door and for the boot from AliExpress, they are cheap and look good so far. The door lights you just stick on on the bottom part of the door, the metal part, and when you close the door they detect the metal and automatically turn off, you dont have to stick the provided magnet. The other two I put on the inside of the tailgate. https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005006137450640.html?srcSns=sns_Gmail&spreadType=socialShare&bizType=ProductDetail&social_params=60612720836&aff_fcid=4412ced6cd454fc7bb07c85af0c16baf-1715673462976-08533-_EJKdHsx&tt=MG&aff_fsk=_EJKdHsx&aff_platform=default&sk=_EJKdHsx&aff_trace_key=4412ced6cd454fc7bb07c85af0c16baf-1715673462976-08533-_EJKdHsx&shareId=60612720836&businessType=ProductDetail&platform=AE&terminal_id=00163b8d47d44080adbb1bf7d8eb5df5&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2nld https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005006296133615.html?srcSns=sns_Gmail&spreadType=socialShare&bizType=ProductDetail&social_params=60614337816&aff_fcid=412f7933db014c99a8141e7098cc1c76-1715673465947-08925-_EwcC20n&tt=MG&aff_fsk=_EwcC20n&aff_platform=default&sk=_EwcC20n&aff_trace_key=412f7933db014c99a8141e7098cc1c76-1715673465947-08925-_EwcC20n&shareId=60614337816&businessType=ProductDetail&platform=AE&terminal_id=00163b8d47d44080adbb1bf7d8eb5df5&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2nld

This was actually very good advice, I did contact them and they asked me to test it and send them a video, and after a few weeks they made a new firmware and asked me to test it again. It is still not perfect, but it is much better, the recording delay is now reduced to 1-2 seconds for the front camera and 3-4 seconds for the back camera.
-
Apparently not, as the camera shuts down immediately when you turn off the car and, like I said, the worst thing is that it looses some time before you shut it off (3-4 seconds for the front and around 15 seconds for the back). In small crashes it can be resolved if you just wait to turn off the car, but in big ones where the car shuts off in the crash it could be a big issue. I tried with a new memory card and reducing the front video quality, but nothing changed. Very bad design with this.

Woow, looks great, must have been a lot of work, you probably also had to remove the panel on the boot door. Fantastic!
-
Looks great, where did you hide the cables for the rear cam? They are invisible. I just had a problem when installing with removing the factory cover, I broke one clip on it, because the instructions said when you release the front clips you should push forward, but for me I needed to pull it back one cm and then down.

Thanks, I have scheduled the repair (first time slot is in July) so hopefully it won't be too bad. From the outside it doesn't seem too bad, the silver plastic has cracked in one place and some scratches, but obviously I don't know what is underneath. We were going maybe 10-15-20 km/h, I had just started from the traffic light (I was first) and when turning right I slowed down to let a cyclist past and a van that was behind me hit me.

HEADS UP AND WARNING TO THOSE WHO BOUGHT THE FITCAMX I bought the camera and installed the front a few weeks ago, just yesterday I installed the rear one (I didn't have time before). This morning I got hit from behind at a traffic light (3 week old car, 1200 km on it). When I checked the cameras I saw that the front cam barely caught the crash (luckily at least it caught it), the rear cam didn't, it cut off around 10 seconds before the crash so it didn't catch anything. The crash wasn't so strong to activate the G sensor so it didn't lock the video. When I got home I tested it a bit more and I noticed that when you turn off the car the last 3-4 seconds of the video from the front camera and the last 12-14 seconds from the rear camera before shutting of the car are not saved! When I got hit, after a few second I turned off the car and went out to see the damage. When I turned off the car it shut of the power to the camera and therefore it didn't save those last few seconds. Also, if you press the snapshot button and then turn off the car it again doesn't lock the video. I think the snapshot button only locks the video when it normally ends and then locks it, but not immediately so if you turn off the car after pressing the snapshot button it will not lock the video immediately. Therefore, if you are in a crash, WAIT 20-30 SECONDS BEFORE TURNING OFF THE CAR, or even better leave it on if possible. I will try to reduce the front video quality a bit and try a new memory card to see if the delay will be smaller.

ABN Amro insurance does not require alarm, but in case of theft you have 2,5% of car value as own risk if you do not have class 3 alarm.
