Few automakers would refer to their products as “impish” which gives a clear indication that Kia’s new small car concept is anything but normal. In a press release that describes the design study as, “playful but gutsy, sturdy yet impish,” Kia is clear to point out that it is exploring, but not yet committed to, the possibility of adding a new and very small car to its lineup. Kia Motors has been one of the fastest growing automotive companies in the U.S. in recent years, and three of its vehicles – the 2013 Optima, Rio and Soul – recently ranked at or near the top of their respective segments within the J.D. Power 2013 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. Last week was another milestone in Kia history, when a snow white 2014 Sorento SXL rolled off our assembly line as the one millionth vehicle made at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG).
