The 2014 Kia Optima got a minor refresh with the addition of new LEDs and standard technology, but the Korean automaker is working on a facelift for its sedan model that will make its debut in the near future. The prototype of the facelifted Kia Optima was spied by AutoGuide’s photographers as it got ready for some serious testing at the Nürburgring. The Kia R&D Museum located in Hyundai Kia R&D Center in South Korea opened in 2007, displaying 20 cars on display and 190 cars in storage. Kia is celebrating a major milestone at its West Point, Georgia factory, having built its one-millionth vehicle on U.S. soil. The Korean automaker’s plant in Georgia has been operating since 2009 and was originally tasked with building the Sorento SUV. Last year, Kia spent an $100 million in order to add the Optima sedan production. The factory currently has an annual production capacity of 360,000 units. Kia is expected to enter the electric vehicle market in North America with an electric version of the Soul crossover, and AutoGuide‘s spy photographers have caught a prototype testing in Europe. Earlier reports say the Kia Soul EV will be sold in Europe, China, and the U.S. and will have a battery good for about 124 miles on a single charge. Top speed of the Soul EV will be limited to 87 mph while the sprint to 62 mph will take around 12 seconds.
