At the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, Kia unveiled its 2015 Soul EV for the North American market. The Kia Soul EV will initially be sold in select markets including California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. Availability will expand, according to the Korean automaker, based on charging infrastructure growth and demand. Ik heb net weer een stuk gereden maar volgens mij gaat het goed nu. Kan ook de auto makkelijk naar voren duwen en merk geen weerstand.Ik kijk het een weekje aan en zal dan de remblokken eens checken of deze aan beide kanten gelijk zijn. Lees het hele artikel

Vaak is het een voorwiel en een achterwiel wat zwaar gaat controleer dus ook even het linker achterwiel als rechtsvoor zwaar gaat .Als dit zo is draai dan de nippel op de klauw los ,als het wiel dan weer normaal gangbaar is dan hoofdrempomp vervangen,let wel als je dit doet dan wel even weer ontluchten gr. Vandaag de remblokken vervangen. Heel vreemd want de blokken waren aan de passagierskant helemaal op en aan de bestuurderskant helemaal nieuw.De remcilinder kon ik wel gewoon terugduwen met zo'n speciaal gereedschapsetje, dus de cilinder stond niet vast. Eerst een stuk gereden en een paar keer rustig proberen te remmen. Alles ging goed. Had ook niet het idee dat er iets aanliep. Thuis terug op de krik en wielen gedraaid. Rechterwiel liep klein beetje stroef dus toch een beetje aanlopen. Alles losgehaald en nog eens goed gereinigd. Nu loopt alles goed.Zal probleem verholpen zijn of zal het toch iets met de hoofdrempomp te maken hebben? Lees het hele artikel

Automotive fever hit the Windy City this week with the Chicago Auto Show (CAS), calling all car lovers to admire the latest motor industry trends. Our theme for the 2014 Chicago Auto Show was “eco-friendliness.“ The 2015 Kia Soul EV, Kia’s first mass market electric vehicle, made its grand debut at the CAS today, along with the world premiere of the refreshed 2014 Optima Hybrid and the first North American showing of the Niro hybrid concept. Kia goes electric Kia goes electric Scheduled to go on sale later in 2014, the Soul EV is Kia’s first all-electric, zero-emissions car to be sold in the U.S. and expands the brand’s line of environmentally conscious vehicles. The Soul EV offers an expected 80-100 miles in range when fully charged, and integrates more than 20 bio-friendly materials on the interior. It comes with a new individual ventilation system, which reduces energy consumption by only providing ventilation and heating to the driver. This is different from current electric vehicles on the road, in which closing the vents merely diverts hot or cold air through other vents in the car while energy consumption remains the same. The Soul EV uses Kia’s third-generation regenerative braking system to capture up to 12% of the car’s kinetic energy, which is fed back into the battery while the car is coasting and braking. The Soul EV plugs into any standard 120v outlet or a conventional 240v EV charger. #DesignSoul From the “floating” roof to the greenhouse that makes the car look like it is wearing wraparound sunglasses, the Soul EV’s look is inspired by the 2012 Kia Track’ster concept and retains the iconic square-shouldered broad stance of the original Soul. Initially, the Soul EV will be offered in three color choices: Pearl White lower body with Electronic Blue roof, Caribbean Blue lower body with Clear White roof, and Bright Silver with Clear White roof. Beste mensen,We hebben gister voor mijn vrouw een Kia Picanto gekocht uit 2006.Het is een prima karretje maar nu viel mij op dat na een stuk rijden de voorremmen gaan fluiten/sissen.Bij koude motor hoor je niets maar na een stuk snelweg hoor je bij lage snelheden een fluittoon. Het meest met een bocht naar rechts. Als je de rem intrapt is het weg volgens mij.En als je achteruit rijdt hoor je het heel erg.Weet iemand wat dat kan zijn.Hij remt trouwens wel perfect. Looking to save money at the pump and reduce your tank-track-sized carbon footprint? Kia just revealed its updated 2014 Optima Hybrid in the Windy City. This midsize sedan features a number of minor enhancements including new front and rear fascias that reduce aerodynamic drag as well as unique wheel offerings. Additional vents in the Optima’s front bumper help it carve through the wind like diesel-powered deli slicer attacking a turkey breast. Additionally the car gets a unique grille, LED front lights and “Hybrid” fender badges to let the world know you’re trying to save the planet. Additionally the available 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels are both lighter and more aerodynamic than past offerings. The former are offered on LX trim level, the latter on the EX model. In part the 2014 Optima Hybrid is powered by a 47-hp electric motor that’s juiced by a 47 kW lithium-polymer battery pack. A starter/generator enables all of the electronic wizardry to function. Altogether the car’s powertrain puts out 199 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque. Inside there’s a new 4.3-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster display; drivers can also snag themselves an optional navigation system with an 8-inch screen. When it comes to efficiency the LX version of the 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid stickers at 36 mpg city and 40 highway, figures that result in a combined score of 38. Almost ten years ago, Kia was inspired to try something new. Innovation has always been our forte, so ‘trying something new’ actually wasn’t very new to us. But this time, it felt different. We were inspired by the style and practicality of the SUV, but wanted to build a car that carried versatile DNA and riding comfort of a sedan. All of this inspiration gave birth to the Kia Soul, which was first introduced as a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) concept car at the 2006 North American International Auto Show as the brainchild of collaboration between our design studios in California and Korea. Since then, we’ve proven that innovation isn’t just a one-time affair—for us, innovation never stops. Let’s take a cruise down the SOUL memory lane, shall we? After being introduced as a concept car in 2006, the Kia Soul made its mass production debut in Korea in September of 2008. The following year, it swept up many first-time design awards for the company, including the much-coveted Red Dot Design Awards. At the 2009 NAIAS, Kia revealed the next concept car based on the Soul, named the Soul’ster, which was a roofless, 2-door, bright yellow adventurous utility vehicle with 19-inch wheels. The Soul’ster’s interior was redesigned with aluminum accents and focused on functionality over the homey, comfort-centric interior of the original Soul. The Soul’ster also took home a Red Dot award and was even named the 2009 North American Concept Truck of the Year. Innovation is definitely rewarding—but that’s not why we do it. Over the next two years, the Soul underwent an upgrade—or more of a “facelift,” as we like to call it. While we stuck to most of the original features and improved mileage and safety features, upgrading the lamps to LED lights really gave the Soul a sleek new look. In 2012 came the Soul in another concept car form: the Track’ster, a.k.a. the coupe version of the Soul. With an extended wheel base, the TRACK Track’ster showed off the Soul’s sporty side, getting much of its inspiration from the world of motorsports. And this past October, Kia debuted the all-new Kia Soul, the second-generation edition that has taken its iconic design even further, accompanied by more customized features that keep it looking fresh including three two-tone roof/body color schemes, three types of colored wheels and three different interior colors. We wanted the Soul to fit into people’s lifestyles and preferences through a simple upgrade. So… What’s next? And in 2014?
