Last year, Kia announced that the Sedona minivan had reached the end of its lifecycle and would be getting the axe; then the Korean automaker did a flip-flop and said it would return, just at a later time. Apparently that meant a one year break as the Korean automaker has revealed the 2014 Kia Sedona after the 2013 model year was absent from dealership lots. Oddly enough however, the Sedona didn’t undergo a huge makeover. SEE ALSO: Kia Sedona Minivan Gets the Axe The 2014 Sedona does get a redesign (however slight) with an updated front end featuring a redesigned grille, LED positioning lights and standard fog lights. In addition, it gets new 17-inch wheels and a few updates to its interior with more storage options. But that’s the extent of its changes, which is surprising considering it would have been a perfect time for Kia to rework its magic on its minivan model. It will still be powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 found in the 2011 model year with 269 hp and 246 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Sedona is rated at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Another sign that it’s severely outdated with mediocre fuel economy figures. Pricing for the base-model LX will start at $25,900, excluding an $850 destination fee. Those wanting leather seats and the 17-inch wheels will have to shell out $30,900 (excluding $850). Peter, ik heb het even opgezocht. De Hyundai heeft de onafhankelijke wielophanging sinds 2006, de Kia vanaf 2009. Inderdaad dus een starre as in 2007. Mea culpa.Moet dan wel olie van de as zijn die via de oliekeerring op de remmen komt.Van de Kia heb ik verder geen tekeningen of gegevens. Lees het hele artikel

Ok Ik heb het over een starre achteras met een differentieel daar zit echt olie in .Inderdaad geen cilinders puur mechanisch.Van een andere prof kreeg het volgende antwoord , inderdaad een defecte kering ,moet achterwiellager met keringen vernieuwen.Ook het ontdoen van vet is inderdaad niet de meest gelukkige oplossing maar ik probeerde door de keuring te komen en dat is wel gelukt [ net aan ]Indien er complete hub voor zijn dan liever dat maar ik heb ze nog niet gevonden , ook wiellagers met kering in de aftermarket niet gevonden.Ook het lager vervangen is geen klein karwei je moet het lager bijna doorslijpen en dan klieven waarna het lagerhuis kunt verwijderen met een trekker of pers. Daar zitten geen wielremcilinders in. Handrem is puur mechanisch met remtrommel. Voetrem is met remschijven,remblokken en remklauwen. Lees het hele artikel

Als er ´olie´ op je remsegmenten zitten, dan komt dit toch van je wielremcilinder af?!? Dat had je kunnen zien bij het schoonmaken ervan.Ikzelf ben niet echt voor het schoonmaken van de remvoering. Vervangen die set inclusief natuurlijk beide wielremcilinders. L+R. Lees het hele artikel

In een cardan zit helemaal geen olie. Het zijn homokinetische koppelingen waar enkel wat vet inzit. Ik vraag mij af hoe (of waarom ?) jij daar olie in krijgt.De wiellagers zijn van het gesloten type waar bovendien zeer weinig vet in zit. Bovendien zijn de lagers niet te krijgen, maar is dit een volledige hub.De enige olie die er volgens mij kan inkomen is remolie via de remklauw of van olie de schokdemper. Lees het hele artikel

Met de apk werkte de rechterkant van de handrem niet .De boel opgemaakt en er zat een olie in de trommel .De boel ontvet en toch net weer door de keuring gekregen.Maar waar komt die drap vandaan?De kering van het wiellager?Of kan het cardanolie zijn /misschien heb ik met het vervangen van de cardanolie te veel gevuld .Iemand een idee.Het vervangen van de kering is dat een moeilijk karwei ?Ik heb wel gezien dat een nieuw lager steken een hoop werk is en dat er nog iets moet worden afgesteld[spelling]Heeft iemand dit al eens gedaan alle tips zijn welkom.Ik heb 30 km gereden en er zit nu nog geen vettigheid in de trommel.Groet Peter Lees het hele artikel

Ik ben eerder deze week bij de dealer geweest na een aantal keer stilgevallen te zijn met een kapotte krukassensor. Bij het afleveren van de auto heb ik gevraagd om meteen te kijken naar de raambediening, maar volgens de garage kon dat niet uitgelezen of gereset worden: het moest toch een zekering oid zijn. Beide zekeringen onder het dashboard en de ene onder de motorkap zijn in orde...voor de zekerheid nog maar een keer doorgemeten. Het wegnemen van het binnenpaneel van het linker portier heeft geen verborgen zekeringen of andere gebreken aan het licht gebracht. Kia’s Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, announced the creation of a new Chinese-only brand at the Shanghai Auto Show today, called Horki. Kia says that the name is derived from two separate elements, ‘Hor’ which stands for China, and ‘Ki’ which relates to driving. Roughly translated, the brand’s title is ‘Driving in China,’ though when read aloud in the western world it means something quite a bit different. Cars from the Horki brand are aiming to be practical, economical and trustworthy, while vehicles from the existing Kia brand are going to represent sportiness, passion and style. Also unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show was the Horki 1 Concept (seen above), which is based on the Kia Forte, though it has been massaged to look quite a bit different. Kia says that the Horki badge will appear on numerous different types of vehicles, one of which will be powered by an alternative fuel source.
