One of the world’s biggest automobile events is just around the corner and Kia is itching to showcase its latest gems of technological and design advancement. The Internationale Autombil-Ausstellung (IAA), more commonly known as the Frankfurt Motor Show, has more than 100 years of history and is the holy site for car manufacturers to discuss a variety of auto topics, introduce major products and set new industry trends. A whole new year of automobile history will start in Frankfurt. About 900 exhibitors are expected to join for the 2011 show and Kia has two very special surprises awaiting visitors. Two weeks ago, we revealed a new concept car-a four-door sports sedan that stunned the world with its powerful, sleek design and dynamic features. We will have a few more updates about the car in the coming days. Even though pictures of the interior have not been released yet, if you look closely you will see that the cabin is luxurious with tan leather seats and twin bold dials on the dashboard. Het was idd de tank, de lossgekomen coating zat echter ook in de leidingen naar het brandstoffilter en in het filter.Dit alles is schoongmaakt en volgns de monteur is het probleem nu verholpen. Hij heeft behoorlijk kilometers gemaakt om hier zeker van te zijn.Tank is niet vervangen, volgens de monteur kwam het door de dieselreiniger die bij vervangen van het dieselfilter (500 km geleden) is gebruikt en hij raadde mij aan dat dus maar niet meer te gebruiken.Ik vindt het bijzonder dat er echt zoveel coating van een tank afkomt van 1 slok reiniger en ik neig er dan ook meer na de Franse diesel de schuld te geven. (nouja de schuld ligt bij Kia dat is me duidelijk, ik wil uiteraard proberen dit naar de toekomst te voorkomen)Wat is de beste manier om alle coating uit de tank te krijgen? Lees het hele artikel

Kia Rio 1.3LS Benz/LPG 145.000kmSinds een maand vaker last van uitval van de snelheidsmeter (kilometerteller loopt ook niet op als de snelheidsmeter is uitgevallen.)Als de motor koud is doet deze het nagenoeg altijd goed. Na enige tijd, meestal tussen de 10 tot 30 km gereden valt de snelheidsmeter direct of binnen een paar seconden nog een paar keer proberen omhoog te komen op nul en blijft daar.Voor die maand was het dat hij soms uitviel en dan wel weer terugkomt, maar nu komt hij bij warme motor nooit meer terug.Een jaar terug in een tijdsbestek van een maand deed hij dit ook maar bijna een jaar er geen last meer mee gehad. Heb toen niets ondernomen doordat het probleem vanzelf verdween.Wat kan het zijn?Een kennis dacht dat het de sensor in de versnellingsbak zou zijn?Zo ja? kan dit en is dat het ding dat achterop de bak zit, relatief hoog met 3 draden?Is dit een electrische sensor of een tandwielaangedreven sensor? (betreft geen draaikabel voor de teller.)Hoe verwijder ik deze en komt er olie mee naar buiten?De garage denkt dat het de sensor of de snelheidsmeter is, in het allerergste geval beide en wordt geschat tussen de 200 en 500 euro.Ikzelf denk echter dat het de snelheidsmeter niet is, doordat deze uitval altijd bij een warme motor is en deze niet hitteonderhevig is.Wat zou het kunnen zijn? De tank is hier inderdaad het probleem. Vervangen of helemaal ontdoen van de binnenlaag is de enige goede remedie. Lees het hele artikel

Even voor de duidelijkheid. Het probleem is de tank, niet de diesel. Het is toch belachelijk dat een tankwand niet tegen een bepaalde soort diesel kan.Enfin, volgens mij levert Kia een groter vervangend zeef voor de tank. "Zodat het langer duurt voordat ie dicht gaat zitten". Houtje-touwtje oplossing dus. Mocht het mogelijk zijn, is natuurlijk de beste oplossing, tank schoonmaken en nieuw zeef plaatsen. Zoals zo vaak: autofabrikant maakt fout, klant draait er uiteindelijk voor op. Lees het hele artikel

Targa Newfoundland, the ultimate North American tarmac rally, is organized every September for seven days and travels across 2,200 kilometers, or 1,200 miles, of amazing central Newfoundland road. South Korean automaker Kia‘s Canadian operations are set to participate in the 2011 Targa Newfoundland Rally, which will be their second consecutive year at the event. This time, Kia Canada will be partnering with MADD and readying a #99 race-prepped Forte Koup for the occasion. The Forte Koup will be driven by Autonet.ca pro-driver Jacques Deshaies and co-pilot Shaun Keenan – a contributor to AutoGuide.com. Kia Canada’s partnership with MADD is especially meaningful as the two organizations will sponsor Canada’s school assembly program and assist in educating the dangers of drunk driving and the importance of driving responsibly amongst youth. To make sure the message gets sent loud and clear, Kia will also launch their “I pledge to drive safe and sober” campaign at every stop of the Rally, encouraging local young adults to sign their pledges on the Koup race car. And that’s not all, Kia Canada plans to further support the program by donating eight cars to MADD Canada. Four cars will be used by MADD field representatives to drive school to school promoting their cause and the remaining four will be used as lawn displays to increase awareness at local venues across Canada. Two weeks ago, Kia officially confirmed that it would unveil a rear-wheel drive four-door sports sedan at this month’s Frankfurt auto show. Today, sources have revealed that Kia may call the sporty sedan, the Veredus. Kia has filed for a trademark on the Veredus name, and sources have also explained that the concept is the only vehicle in the company’s short-term product plan without a name. The concept has sleek and muscular proportions, and will likely slide in between the Hyundai Genesis and Equus in terms of size. hallo,als ik schakel naar hoog of naar laag dan valt de druk weg en moet ik het gas pedaal helemaal in duwen zodat de motor weer normaal draait, het probleem doet zich voor op het moment dat de motor warm is en de choke niet meer nodig is. het lijkt of de moter even geen benzine krijgt. alvast bedankt.camille Lees het hele artikel
