Geluid bij stationair draaien (Kia)

Hallo allemaal.

Hephastos.
Lees het hele artikel -

Kia Motors goes green at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show
Kiaclub Nieuwsrobot plaatste een topic in Kia Buzz
The 2016 Chicago Auto Show is in full swing and Kia’s impressive 21,000 square-foot exhibit is now on display in the Windy City. This year, Kia Motors presented 14 vehicles across various segments that showcased our innovative style and eye-catching vibrancy. While each model shone on its own merits, the headliner of the event was the newly released trio of green cars under Kia’s EcoDynamics sub-brand. The brand-new Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV), first announced last November and teased at 2016 NAIAS, is among the three newly unveiled Kia hybrid vehicles and a forerunner in Kia’s 2020 green car roadmap. Envisioned as a hybrid car with a deliberate un-hybrid-like design, the Niro presents as a practical yet stylish package featuring a striking design, functional utility and cutting-edge hybrid technology. The Kia Niro resembles a small, stylish SUV, currently the hottest segment in the industry, and offers outstanding fuel economy with a newly engineered hybrid powertrain. Check out the full Kia press conference, including the Niro reveal, below. The all-new Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) also made its global debut as our very first PHEV model. While it still maintains many of the luxurious features of its traditional powertrain counterpart, the Optima Plug-in Hybrid offers exclusive elements that make this new hybrid vehicle a valuable addition to Kia’s commitment to a green future. The new Optima PHEV offers seamless transition between EV, gasoline and hybrid driving modes with uncompromised power and fuel economy. The model is expected to hit the global markets during the fourth quarter of 2016. The fully redesigned 2017 Optima Hybrid also offers impressively enhanced hybrid performance. Featuring a refined engine coupled with a hybrid starter generator and more compact lithium-polymer battery pack, the new Optima HEV is estimated to deliver ten percent greater fuel economy over the existing hybrid model. In addition to the comprehensive list of features offered on the fourth generation Optima, this model also provides a new hybrid-specific interface panel and modules. Kia’s three new eco-friendly models are not the only vehicles available for viewing at our booth at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The newly upgraded 2017 Kia Forte (Cerato/K3) and the Telluride concept, along with nine other production models, will be available for viewing on the show floor until February 21. If you can’t make it to McCormick Place Convention Center, be sure to check out Kia’s social media channels for more news about the event! Lees hele artikel -

2017 Kia Niro Video, First Look
Kiaclub Nieuwsrobot plaatste een topic in Kianieuws van Autoguide.com
Get the Flash Player to see this player. Say hello to Kia’s first dedicated hybrid crossover. Introduced at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, the Kia Niro is targeting an optimistic 50-mpg fuel economy rating thanks to a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. Total system output is pegged at 146 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque and according to the Korean automaker, its lightweight structure, good aerodynamics and a new six-speed dual-clutch transmission will help it achieve its 50-mpg target. 2016 Chicago Auto Show Coverage Looking a bit like a compact version of the new Sportage, the 2017 Kia Niro goes out of its way not to look like a hybrid. A plug-in hybrid variant will also join the Niro’s lineup at a later date in its lifecycle. The new hybrid crossover is expected to arrive later this year and if Kia is successful in hitting 50 mpg, it could change the landscape for hybrid offerings considering those are Toyota Prius figures and we all know how that model sells. Top 5 Debuts of the Chicago Auto Show
Kiaclub Nieuwsrobot plaatste een topic in Kianieuws van Autoguide.com
The Chicago Auto Show is typically a quiet event, as most automakers get their big debuts over with in Detroit. But because it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of debuts, some automakers save their reveals for the Windy City show. Still, the Chicago Show isn’t a flashy one, focusing on family cars and trucks rather than expensive luxury cars or exotics. Here are the Top 5 most significant debuts at this year’s show: 5. Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Chevrolet celebrated the return of the track-capable 1LE package to the Camaro in Chicago, but the biggest news is that it will be available on both V6 and V8 models. Setting the benchmark for attainable track performance, the Camaros get all sorts of upgrades that will help drivers set impressive lap times. MORE DETAILS: Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Returns for 2017 with V6 and V8 Options 4. Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport The Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport are hugely significant models for Hyundai and both crossovers debuted refreshed looks here in Chicago. Besides exterior nips and tucks, the Santa Fes get huge safety upgrades like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and adaptive lights with high-beam assist. READ MORE: Hyundai Rolls Out Facelifted 2017 Santa Fe 3. Ram Power Wagon Ram’s three-quarter ton pickups just got more capable off-road. The the 2500 Power Wagon and the 2500 Off-Road 4×4 models debuted here at the show, and although they look loud and ready to conquer, they also have the proper upgrades to make it possible. MORE DETAILS: 2017 Ram 2500 is Ready for Adventure with Power Wagon, 4×4 Off-Road Models 2. Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro The popular off-roading TRD Pro line for the new Tacoma has returned for the 2017 model year. Other than making it look more badass, the TRD Pro gives the Tacoma big performance upgrades that will make it more capable when the pavement ends. The Tacoma has always been a popular truck with off-roaders, and the TRD Pro is something they have been waiting for since the redesigned truck debuted last year. MORE DETAILS: Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Returns for 2017 1. Kia Niro Pretty much the only debut of a completely new model here at the Chicago show, the 2017 Kia Niro is the automaker’s first dedicated hybrid. Right now, the Niro has a huge advantage because it’s the only subcompact crossover hybrid on the market, and will likely start a trend in its segment. Kia’s goal is for the Niro to get a combined 50 mpg, which is very optimistic, but every car the Korean automaker unveiled here was a green model, so it’s clear they are taking efficiency very seriously. Power comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine making 103 horsepower and a 43-hp electric motor for a combined output of 146 hp and a strong 195 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a 1.56-kWh lithium-ion battery that will help reduce the load on the gas engine and increase efficiency. There’s also a plug-in model on the way. All photography by Gerben van der Waals Ever dream about cruising the endless roads of a faraway land in your very own Kia? In collaboration with Kia Motors Argentina, Dutch couple Wendy and Gerben made a three-week road trip across the country in a Kia Soul. Exploring the country in the stylish subcompact, Wendy Pasop, founder of the travel blog Reismeisje, and Gerben van der Waals, a professional photographer, revealed the vast and wondrous landscape of Argentina. Find out more about the adventures that took place aboard the Kia Soul! The couple started their trip in Buenos Aires, setting off along the Argentina coastline in the Kia Soul. Exploring the southern frontier of Patagonia, Wendy and Gerben visited the beautiful wildlife settlement in Peninsula Valdez and the spectacular glaciers and peaks of El Calafate and El Chaltén. The couple also visited the small and remote sea village of Bahia Bustamante. “Nowadays it is a beautiful lodge, which is run by a family,” Wendy wrote in her correspondence, adding, “It is completely isolated from everything, so we could only get there because of the Kia Soul we drove.” Wendy and Gerben also drove north on the Seven Lakes Route passing by the stunning landscape of forests and lakes, stopping to camp at beautiful locations. The stylish but practical Kia Soul provided space and comfort during the trip, handily transporting their two large backpacks and various camping gear. Traveling through the expansive Argentina, Wendy and Gerben experienced all kinds of weather conditions and terrain. Kia Soul, as their travel companion, provided assistance and comfort for the couple during the trip. “We liked traveling with the Kia Soul a lot,” said Wendy, “ [it’s a] great car for small families!” View their travel video to experience the full adventure! The 2017 Kia Niro has been unveiled as the Korean automaker’s first dedicated hybrid crossover. Making its global debut at the Chicago Auto Show, the Niro’s targeted fuel economy is an optimistic 50 mpg. Looking a lot like a subcompact version of the new Sportage, the Niro looks like a regular crossover, and Kia takes pride in the fact that its design doesn’t shout its hybrid status to the world. Although Kia has an Optima hybrid and the funky Soul EV, the Niro is the brand’s first dedicated hybrid, and it’s built on an all-new eco platform. Kia wants to triple its green car lineup in the next five years, and the Niro is the first step. Kia has already announced that a plug-in hybrid will be added to the Niro lineup later in its lifecycle. ALSO SEE: Full 2016 Chicago Auto Show Coverage Kia says a lightweight structure, good aerodynamics, and a new six-speed dual clutch transmission will help it achieve the 50 mpg target. That’s right; this hybrid will not have a CVT. The Niro’s batteries are stored underneath the rear seats, which means that it won’t take up any cabin or cargo space, and allows for a flat load floor. Further increasing mpg, the Niro will also have a system that coaches the driver when to coast and when to brake for maximum efficiency. There will also be something called Predictive Energy Control, which uses the navigation with cruise control to anticipate changing road conditions. The system manages how energy is expended by determining when it is best to recharge or pull power from the battery. Kia is quick to point out that it promises the Niro will have a very “un-hybrid” driving experience. Special attention has been paid to the regenerative braking so that it feels more like conventional brakes. Of course, the Niro will come packed with all the latest safety tech like blind spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, lane change assist, smart cruise control, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. There will also be Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and other telematics systems that can be accessed through a seven-inch touchscreen. The 50 mpg figure is a very optimistic goal; that’s Prius territory. But if Kia can make 50 mpg happen, the hybrid world is about to see a shakeup. No pricing information is available yet, but you can expect the Kia Niro to hit the streets later this year. Kia is expanding its green car lineup, adding a plug-in Optima Hybrid with a 600-mile range to the mix. Every single car the Korean automaker debuted at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show was green this year, with an updated Kia Optima Hybrid, an all-new Niro crossover hybrid, and the brand’s first plug-in hybrid making their debuts at the normally quiet show. The plug-in gets a 2.0-liter four-cyilnder engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and a 50 kW motor that is 42 percent more powerful than the motor in the previous Optima Hybrid. The plug-in’s system is augmented by a 9.8 kWh lithium ion battery pack that allows the sedan to get an all-electric range of 27 miles. The batteries are stored under the rear seats so they don’t cut into cargo or cabin space. A full charge with a 240-volt Level 2 charger can be completed in less than three hours, while it takes about nine hours on a Level 1 120-volt charger. ALSO SEE: Full 2016 Chicago Auto Show Coverage The regular hybrid is 10 percent more efficient than the outgoing one. It’s powered by the same 2.0L four-cylinder as the PHEV with 154 hp, and a 38 kW electric motor tied to a 1.62 kWh battery pack. Total system output for the hybrid is estimated at 193 hp. The PHEV Optima will have three driving modes: all-electric (suitable for short city trips), hybrid (highway driving) and charging modes. Both cars will also have a Coasting Guide, which coaches the driver on when to cost or brake to maximize fuel economy. The PHEV and the regular hybrid tie the Tesla Model S for aerodynamics, as both cars have a 0.24 coefficient of drag. Of course, the Optimas will offer the latest safety technology: autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning systems, and a telematics system are all available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available, and the PHEV also gets a system that will help you find local charging stations. The plug-in and hybrid Optima have a lot of similarities as the gas version, but will get unique instrument cluster, some different exterior design cues, and special alloy wheels. The plug-in model will only come in the EX trim level, and will go on sale in the last quarter of this year. Pricing will be announced closer to its launch. These 5 Automakers Have the Worst Websites
Kiaclub Nieuwsrobot plaatste een topic in Kianieuws van Autoguide.com
The J.D. Power 2016 Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study has been released and you may be surprised to see which automakers have the worst websites. The semi-annual study is in its 17th year and measures the usefulness of automakers’ websites during the new-vehicle shopping process. It examines four key measures (in order of importance): information/content, appearance, navigation and speed. Satisfaction of those surveyed is calculated on a 1,000-point scale with overall customer satisfaction for 2016 coming in at 808. The study found that there is a connection between navigation problems and the perception of site speed, with the more steps needed to find information, view an image or play a video, the longer the process feels, leading to a decline in satisfaction. Of those surveyed, 42 percent experienced a problem with speed in at least one area of the website. Build and price tools also contributed to the low scores in the speed category, as they often lagged. SEE ALSO: Honda, Subaru Have the Worst Automaker Websites: Study Most importantly, the 2016 winter study found that websites become a conduit to a test drive, with 59 percent of new-vehicle shoppers that are “delighted” with their experience on a website saying they are more likely to test drive a vehicle after visiting the site. Here are the five automakers with the worst websites according to the study and you may find some of them surprising since one of them is the world’s top automaker. 5. Scion – 794 Unfortunately Scion as a brand no longer exists and Toyota was quick to pull the plug on its website, so we couldn’t get a screen grab of it. Scion relied heavily on its website to sell cars and even introduced a special program which allowed buyers to find a price and lock it in before ever walking into a dealership. 4. Kia – 785 3. In this year’s Super Bowl 50 ads, we saw everything from singing sheep, vegan bears, and even a few sentimental commercials that hit us in the feels. The Broncos ended up winning 24-10 over the Panthers, but even if you don’t care about sports, the ads were enough to keep you entertained. Here are our picks for the best and worst car commercials of Super Bowl 50: WINNER: Jeep – ‘Portraits’ Tugs at our heart strings, really zones in on Jeep’s historical importance in the military, and makes us feel patriotic. A poignant and effective spot. WINNER: Toyota ‘Heck on Wheels’ and ‘The Longest Chase’ Toyota doesn’t take itself too seriously and these ads are cheeky. Plus, the song is kind of catchy. WINNER: Audi – ‘Commander’ Another sentimental one with a great story, but we mostly like this because of the well-timed use of a great David Bowie track. WINNER: MINI – ‘#DefyLabels’ Great use of diverse celebrities, and it has a solid message. The individual ads are better than the one that actually aired during the game. Watch the whole series here: NOT BAD: Kia – ‘Walken Closet’ Great use of a celebrity, but definitely scores 10/10 on the weirdness scale. And don’t you feel awful if you actually wear beige socks? NOT BAD: Jeep – ‘4x4ever’ It makes you want to join the Jeep club, but this ad doesn’t have as much punch as the “Portraits” one. NOT BAD: Hyundai – ‘First Date’ Kevin Hart owns this commercial. It also shows off a pretty neat feature of the car. Plus, everyone loves a crazy stalker/overprotective dad. NOT BAD: Hyundai – ‘Ryanville’ Again, does a good job of showing off one of the car’s most important features. NOT BAD: Hyundai – ‘The Chase’ The last few seconds are funny, but the spot shows off in a clever way one of the new Elantra’s neat features. NOT BAD: Honda – ‘A New Truck to Love’ Singing sheep. Queen. That is all. NOT BAD: Subaru – ‘Dog Tested’ Honestly, I love animals. The cat in this Subaru spot seals the deal for me. LOSER: Acura – ‘What He Said’ Kind of underwhelming, but maybe it’s because a lot of the excitement over the NSX has died down. Just give us the car already! LOSER: Hyundai – ‘Better’ This one is strangely creepy and unsettling. But most importantly, just not that entertaining. LOSER: Buick – ‘The Big Game Meets The Big Day’ This one is just forgettable. And, to be honest, absolutely no one would be surprised that the Cascada is a Buick. This is an unfortunate TV ad because Buick had a big chance to do something cool instead of play out the whole “This isn’t your grandfather’s Buick” thing.
