As the year-end holidays approach, some of you are already facing up to the bitter cold. Did you know that when it’s cold outside your cars require the most care and upkeep? Today, for a safer and merrier winter for our fans, Kia presents the most helpful tips for cold weather car maintenance. 1. Avoid warming up your vehicle in an enclosed area While all of us prefer getting into a warm car during the chilly seasons, it can be very dangerous to heat up a vehicle in an enclosed area without air circulation. However cold outside, it is simply not worth the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning. Warm up your car outside or only after you have opened your garage door. 2. Save your car from freezing up In order to avoid your gas lines from freezing up, your gas tank should be at least half filled at all times. For your cooling system, it is ideal to use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water to lower the freezing point of engine fluid. (Photo courtesy of Instagram user @sergey3avyalov) 3. Double check all maintenance routines To prepare for more challenging road conditions during winter, be extra cautious about your car’s tires, brakes, battery, and windshield. When examining the tires, check that they have adequate tread and pressure. 4. Keep your line of vision clear For the safe driving during winter, driver visibility is critical. Make sure your car has enough windshield wiper fluid, optimized for cold conditions. This will help prevent your washer pump from freezing up. Wipers should be all the way down when parking in extreme temperatures so that they don’t freeze to the windshield and get damaged. (Photo courtesy of Instagram user @michelleerowee) 5. Safety is the key to winter driving Increase your stopping distances by as much as ten times in snow and ice for your safety. Remember that speed limits are set for roads in the best of weather conditions and slow down if the road is covered with ice or snow. Hallo ik heb sinds kort problemen met de achteruit versnelling van mijn kia rio hatchback 1.5 16v van 2005deze springt eruit. ik heb de schakelstang losgekoppeld en op voorhand de versnellingsbak in achteruuit gezet om te kijken of deze dan ook nog uit zijn versnelling (achterruit) springt. spijtig genoeg was dit het geval en ben ik genoodzaakt om een andere versnellingsbak te steken.nu is mijn vraag of een bak van een kia rio 1.5 16v uit 2001 past op een rio 1.5 16v van 2005 ? Hello guys/girls,Opzoek naar een goede dealer om een nieuwe auto aan te schaffen. Tot op heden altijd 2e hands auto's gekocht maar telkens weer problemen mee gehad. Zat laatst op een site te kijken die erg goed uit zag : https://www.leendertvdborn.nlmaar alsnog twijfels omdat het een dure aankoop gaat worden. Iemand tips/advies voor een leuke dealer, of misschien een goede garage? Iemand die me meer over leendert vd born kan vertellen? Graag een dealer in de buurt van tilburg/breda. Thanks! Let Op Sorento rijders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Van deze Sorento het volgende probleem.Van de aandrijfas (rechts voor) zijn tot 2 x de moeren vast gezet dit mbt speling.Dit was waarneembaar tijdens schakelelen met opkomende kopp.(tik hoorbaar).Na de 2 maal aanzetten van de moeren het probleem wederom geconstateerd.De dealer wilde de moeren weer aandraaien ,waar ik niet mee akkoord kon gaan.Mijn stelling tegenover hem ,waar kom die speling vandaan?Kon hij niet zeggen en zou bij Kia ned. een consult doen.Deze kwam terug met de mededeling dat er een modificatie uitgevoerd moet worden.De as is gemonteerd met aan beide zijde een ring van kunststof.Deze moeten worden vervangen door stalenringen en tevens moet de as worden gemonteerd metnw gemodificeerde kroonmoeren.Bovenstaande reeds uitgevoerd door dealer en valt onder garantie.Tevens was mijn vraag waarom als er een modificatie plaats vindt dit niet onder een terugroepactie wordt gedaan.Geen commentaar!!!Het betreft hier een 2.4 benzine 2WDDe modificatie betreft Sorento,s met bwj sept.2009 t/m 2004.Bij geen modificatie kan er schade optreden aan de as.Ik heb de kunstof ringen gezien ,waren gebroken en totaal door gesleten. De importeur is zelfs erbij betrokken.
