It’s here. Trail’ster, the electric all-wheel drive concept based on the Kia Soul. At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Kia Motors America finally took the wraps off the boldly designed compact CUV. Trail’ster is more efficient and weighs less than the traditional powertrain Soul, and takes the brand’s iconic urban passenger car to the next level with its bold design, smartly integrated e-AWD system, and robust 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. “The Trail’ster concept is a near-future look at how the production Kia Soul would logically evolve into an AWD-capable version that’s built to escape the city streets and roam into the mountain wilderness,” said Tom Kearns, chief designer, Kia Design Center of America. “It takes the go-anywhere capability of an SUV and reimagines it within a compact and sporty package with an expressive design to match.” The exterior of the concept is embellished with Polar Pearl Snowdrift paint and contrasting Terra Bronze Metallic tone roof, as well as the anodized fire-red wheel accents and polished billet aluminum sections. A weatherproof rollback canvas roof is another of the Trail’ster’s highlights, adding enjoyment to outdoor activities and lightening the vehicle at the same time. Its off-road prowess is evident from the Trail’ster’s aluminum skidplates , providing a protective armor to shield the undercarriage from jagged rocks and ice. The Trail’ster is primarily powered by a robust 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine putting out 185 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission that is matched to an electric all-wheel-drive system on the rear axle. “This powertrain strategy of a downsized turbo and ‘Through-the-Road’ hybrid power (power sourced both by a front gas engine and a rear electric motor) yields a dual benefit of increased performance – torque and traction – and optimized efficiency,” explained Kearns. “This is AWD being done the advanced, intelligent and responsible way, while sacrificing nothing.” You can check out the newest Kia concept in action below! Beste..Sinds een paar dagen ligt er een vlek olie onder mijn auto.ik heb hem even op de brug gehad en zag direct dat de Carterplug helemaal droog is en het olie filter ook.Nu zit er aan de voorkant van de bak een opening, hier zit een stukje schuimrubber voor (sponsje) netjes in een beugel. Ik denk om de bak te beschermen tegen vuil.De was helemaal doordrenkt van de olie. Het is geen bak olie maar gewoon motorolie.Ik heb wat gezocht en denk dat de krukaskeerring aan vervanging toe is.Zou dit kunnen? En is hier heel erg haast mee? Kia pulled the wraps off of a new concept car in Chicago today, previewing a possible off-road capable version of the Soul. The Trail’ster concept is based on the Soul, but with an extra 2.5 inches of ground clearance, aluminum skid plates to protect the under-body and an unusual powertrain that offers highly capable, but efficient all-wheel drive. It wears Pirelli Winter Carving tires that are 245 millimeters wide all around and meant for offering traction over sketchy surfaces like snow and mud. Kia refers to its newest concept as a means for people who live in cities to escape their crowded environment in favor of spending time outside. Accordingly, the roof has a retractable cloth panel that offers some of the characteristics you might expect in a convertible. But what really makes this concept special isn’t visible from the outside, although it does carry a tougher look than the standard Soul. 2015 Chicago Auto Show Coverage Instead, it has Kia’s 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood to make 185 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque that it sends to the front wheels. Meanwhile, there’s also an electric motor that can power the rear wheels under acceleration and as a regenerative brake to recoup power while the car is slowing down. The electric motor can carry the car under light acceleration without using any gasoline for an admittedly meager two to three miles, but otherwise it works beside the internal combustion engine for a total system output of 220 hp and 285 lb-ft of torque. The two systems aren’t mechanically linked and operate independently, which is something that Kia says will enhance fuel efficiency. While the Korean manufacturer didn’t release specific fuel economy estimates, it said the concept can return approximately 25 to 30 percent better city fuel economy and 10 to 15 percent better highway consumption than the 2.0-liter gasoline-powered Soul. Kia is keeping quiet about production plans for now, but it also looks much closer to being production ready than to other recent concept vehicles like the GT4 Stinger and Track’ster. Like VC fighters hacking their way through Vietnam’s jungles in order to keep the Ho Chi Minh trail open and supplies flowing we find ourselves in the thick of auto-show season, surrounded by enemy combatants … or perhaps just journalists from other publications. Anyway, there’s a little shindig going on in Chicago right now. The Windy City hosts what’s billed as “the nation’s largest auto show” and as in years past we’re anticipating a platoon of important reveals to beak cover over the next couple days. Complete 2015 Chicago Auto Show Coverage Advanced reconnaissance has indicated that car companies from around the world are planning major debuts and here are five of the most anticipated. Now, watch out for that punji pit next to the breakfast buffet! Now, could you pass the tongs I need a few sausage links. 5. Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV Mitsubishi is set to show off a plug-in hybrid concept called the GC-PHEV. This vehicle is making its North American debut here in Chicago, though initially it was revealed at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show. Details are sketchy right now but we hear this amped-up crossover will be powered by a fuel-sipping 3.0-liter V6 engine and some advanced electronic components. An eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive should also be important parts of this vehicle’s drivetrain. 4. Kia Soul Off-Road Concept What would you say about a Kia Soul with off-road capability? “Da fuq?!” would be a succinct comment, but believe it or not this is just what the South Korean automaker appears to be cooking up. Targeting urbanites with outdoorsy proclivities this vehicle features an electric powertrain and all-wheel drive. Naturally there’s already a Soul EV; it features a 93-mile range and a motor with 109 horses. This powertrain could serve double duty but we’re in the dark at this time. 3. Nissan NISMO Something-or-other Nissan will reveal a “never-before-seen” NISMO model here in Chicago. We have no idea exactly what that means but any time we see those five letters strung together and printed in caps we get excited. Could it be a performance version of the Sentra or Versa? Possibly, but that doesn’t seem very likely. What about an amped up Altima, Rogue or even an enthusiast-focused Pathfinder? Who knows! We don’t. What do you think Nissan will debut? 2. Mazda MX-5 Miata Accessories Design Concept It seems like we’re all excited about the new Mazda MX-5 Miata, and why shouldn’t we be? This car is pure and unadulterated, it’s focused, purposeful and well executed, a combination of virtues that’s so rare these days. Pounding these points home, Hiroshima’s home team is expected to reveal a special concept version of this car that will apparently showcase some customization options available to buyers. The company will likely reveal a slew of MX-5 branded merchandise as well. 1. 2016 Honda Pilot Finally, Honda is expected to take the wrapper off a brand-new version of its Pilot crossover vehicle. The 2016 model should feature a host of enhancements all wrapped in sleek new sheetmetal. Rumor has it power will still be provided by a 3.5-liter V6 engine but expect it to feature numerous technical enhancements for greater power an enhanced fuel efficiency. Direct injection and start/stop technology are likely, along with a more advanced transmission than the current model’s antiquated five-speed unit. Excitement over the 2015 YouTube Music Awards continues as Kia presents another episode of the REDISCOVERED campaign. After having Matthew Koma cover Smokey Robinson’s “The Tracks of My Tears”, Kia went out in search of other talented young musicians to cover a legendary song from the past, and found American indie pop band MisterWives in New York City. They accepted the challenge to cover the song “Out of Touch” by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo Hall & Oates. Watch how the band pulls off a mega hit from the 80’s in ‘MisterWivey’ style! Kia’s partnership with NBA player LeBron James looks like its going to the next level. James has released a teaser photo which shows a “King James Edition” badge on the side of what must be a K900 luxury car. Kia recently named James the Kia K900 Luxury Ambassador. Kia is teasing a concept preview of its next mid-size sedan today ahead of a planned debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The South Korean company didn’t release any details about the car, but has confirmed that it is a D-segment car and the 11th concept to come from its European design studio. It will debut officially on March 3 when more details will be revealed in Switzerland. Currently the Optima uses a base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine in North America that makes 192 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, but it is also available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that offers 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, both mated to six-speed manual transmissions. De koppelingsplaat als zodanig staat stil als deze draaid , klinkt een beetje raar , maar hij kan geen lawaai maken omdat hij opgesloten zit tussen de drukgroep en het vliegwiel.Gewoon even terug gaan waar ze het uitgevoerd hebben.Er is veel los geweest , dus dat er nu een ander geluid in zit wat er voor die tijd niet was , of niet op viel .Neem aan dat alles vervangen is , dus ook het druklager en de bak weer gevuld met olie.
