Mijn kia shuma trekt helemaal niet op, als ik gas geef dan lijkt het net alsof die gas naar achteren doet niet naar voren zodat die optrekt. en als ik gas pedaal helemaal indruk dan neemt auto snelheid af ipv dat ie dan sneller gaat. Voor dat je gaat sleutelen. Dit is normaal bij de Sorento!!!!!!!!!!Dit is zo in de software geprogrammeerd om twee redenen:1) Om het benzine verbruik te verlagen. De motor hoeft dan bij het overschakelen niet vanuit ondertoeren zijn werk te doen.2) Zoals je wellicht weet (of misschien niet, dan bij deze) is de 2.4 Sorento in het lage toerenbereik geen snelheidsduivel (in de rest ook niet trouwens ). De motor wordt op deze manier op toeren gehouden voor "snellere" acceleratie.Dus niks aan doen!!! Kost alleen maar geld en levert niks op. Lees het hele artikel

The Chinese auto industry is reaching new peaks. That was probably the reason South Korean auto manufacturer Kia choose to name their new Rio sedan K2 for the Chinese market. As many of you should know, K2 is one of the tallest mountains in the world, and this Chinese built Kia will hopefully take its makers sales figures sky high. This miniature version of the Optima sedan will be available in China in six trim levels. Buyers will get to choose between a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter engine. Both motors are four-cylinder units and power is sent to the front wheels via either manual or automatic gearbox. Let me first introduce myself, I am Jungwook Wi from Kia’s Overseas Communication Team, involved in international Public Relations. Today, I would like to share with you my trip to Spain, Barcelona, where journalists from Central & South America tested our all-new Picanto We began the official test drive event with the press conference where journalists were presented with Kia’s corporate overview and all-new Picanto product information. Also we held a 30-munite Q&A session with our marketing and product managers, where the journalists questioned about the advanced features of the newest model, such as Hill-start Assist Control(HAC), safety features, etc. Then we held a full day of the all-new Picanto test drive, which was divided into 2 parts (morning & afternoon session). The journalists were busy not only test driving the different versions of the model, but also taking photos, filming interviews, etc. Most of the journalists were impressed by the overall performance of the model, along with its outstanding design. Actually a few journalists mentioned about the attractiveness of the model to dramatically growing female consumers in Central & South American region, with spacious interior space and much improved design. As happy as I was with the journalist’s positive impression of the model, I also enjoyed time with very friendly journalists and operation staff, along with beautiful scenery of the venue. It was obvious to see that everyone including myself had a great time in Spain, and we promised to meet again in the short future for another special event. There are a lot of important points to make about the all-new 2012 Kia Rio Sedan, but the most surprising is that it will be the first in the sub-compact segment to feature start-stop technology. Called Idle Stop and Go (ISG for short), the Rio will completely shut off its gasoline engine when at a stop and immediately restart it just before the gas pedal is pressed. Powered by the same 1.6-liter direct-injection engine found in the new 2012 Hyundai Accent, the Rio also gets the same 30-mpg city and 40-mpg highway rating. Those EPA ratings don’t include technology like ISG, however, so real-world fuel economy could exceed the EPA estimates. And as impressive as those fuel economy numbers are, the Rio doesn’t loose out in power either, making 138-hp and sharing the title of the most potent engine in the sub-compact class. Kia continues to deliver in the design department as well, offering more style in the sub-compact segment than you’d expect. The Rio sedan even gets a slightly different front end to its Rio5 hatchback counterpart. Available in three trim levels LX models include 15-inch steel wheels and not much else, while the EX trim brings features like power locks, windows and keyless entry as well as Bluetooth. The top-level SX trim includes fog lights, LED daytime running lights, dual chrome-tipped exhaust pipes, turn signal indicators, a leather wrapped steering wheel, the Microsoft UVO infotainment system with a rear-view camera and 17-inch wheels. Options include that ISG setup as a part of the Eco Package, while SX models can be had with the Premium Package that delivers navigation, a push-button start, leather heated seats and a moonroof. The car the launched Kia‘s transformation from an auto industry back-marker to a legitimate brand, the Soul has received a list of mid-cycle upgrades for 2012. New front and rear fascias give a cleaner look to the Soul, while a new hood design has also been incorporated, all of which works to give the car a smoother exterior appearance. De motor van de Kia Soul slaat (met warme motor) bij het optrekken vanuit stationair toerental 600 rpm nogal snel af.Met koude motor en verhoogd toerental is er geen enkel probleem met het optrekken.De koppeling grijpt perfect en soepel aan en geeft beslist het probleem niet.Het staionairtoerental wordt volgens de dealer alleen met de software geregeld en is niet mechanisch regelbaar.Volgens mij zou een iets verhoogd toerental naar c.a. 800 rpm volgens mij een oplossing bieden via meer massa gevend effect vanuit het vliegwiel.Verstelling op op de aanslagstelschroef van luchtklep is volgens mij geen optie. omdat deze weer gecorrigeerd wordt via de computer instelling naar 600 rpm.Volgens de KIA dealer is hier geen update voor en kan men deze software fabrieks instelling niet wijzigen of beïnvloeden.Heeft er iemand ervaring in deze of er mogelijk toch nog het toerental richting 800 rpm gezet kan worden. Kia Motors and its Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, unveiled the K2 B-segment sedan today at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. Based on the platform of the all-new Rio, which made its world premiere at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, the new K2 was designed and engineered specifically for the Chinese market and will enter production at Dongfeng Yueda Kia’s manufacturing facility in Jiangsu province starting this June. A 5-door hatchback of version of the K2 will commence production in August of this year. K2 will be positioned as a premium small car with advanced styling and upgraded levels of quality and performance, and is expected to be a highly competitive offering in a segment that accounts for 17% of all new car sales in China. K2 represents the next phase in Kia’s strategy to better satisfy customers in various regions of the world by developing and marketing products that reflect local tastes and needs. Following the introduction of the cee’d family of C-segment vehicles and Venga B-segment MPV, which were designed and engineered specifically for European customers, the new K2 is a clear sign of Kia’s commitment to become a leading automotive brand in China. Speaking at the Kia press conference at the Shanghai Motor Show, Hyoung-Keun Lee, Vice Chairman of Kia Motors, said, “We are confident that this all-new model for China will provide the momentum needed for Kia not only to remain as one of China’s fastest growing automotive brands but also to become a top 10 automaker in the local market in terms of quality and customer satisfaction.” While sharing the same technical underpinnings as the all-new Rio, the K2 has been completely redesigned for the Chinese market, drawing on styling cues from the popular K5 sedan (known as ‘all-new Optima’ in many markets), including sophisticated lines that create a dynamic, bold and sophisticated exterior appearance. The front view features Kia’s signature “tiger nose” radiator grille and exudes a high-tech and bold image thanks to innovative fog lamp design, large air intake and dynamic swept back headlamps. A side character line, side air vent and trunk edge line add to the sporty image of the K2 while the rear view features a two-tone bumper and modern combination lamps. The driver-focused futuristic interior conveys a spacious and comfortable feeling, and drivers will enjoy a 3-cylinder supervision instrument cluster, cloth lined door panels, leather steering wheel and TGS knob, and button engine start and smart key. Measuring 4,370 mm (overall length) by 1,700 mm (overall width) by 1,460 mm (overall height), the K2 is longer, wider and lower than the previous generation Rio and boasts the longest wheelbase (2,570 mm) in its class. The expanded dimensions allow K2 to claim best-in-class interior space and ample luggage capacity of 500 liters (VDA). Space utilization is further enhanced thanks to the 60:40 split rear seat folding. K2 will be available in six trim levels with either a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter Gamma gasoline engine mated to a manual or automatic transmission. Both engines feature best-in-class performance and fuel efficiency, with the 1.4-liter powerplant delivering output of 107 ps while the 1.6-liter unit boasts 123 ps. It competed in (and completed) the gruelling Targa Newfoundland last September. Now the same Kia Forte Koup, that was driven by Adam Hill and Mark Kostick of Team ‘Wishful Thinking,’ is now going to be auctioned off for charity. The team, which partnered with The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, managed to raise more than $100,000 during the race, in addition, Kia dealerships across Canada contributed to the cause by committing part of the proceeds from the sale of each new vehicle between August 16 and September 18 last year. The Targa Kia Koup, now having finished its auto circuit tour, is being auctioned on eBay and all proceeds from the sale will go to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Hyundai and Kia remain unscathed by the parts crunch that is affecting Japanese auto makers, with both companies running their United States-based plants at full capacity and overtime shifts to help meet demand at certain plants. “We’ve been fortunate,” Robert Burns, a spokesman for the Hyundai plant in Alabama, told Left Lane News. “Our parts development team is closely monitoring all our suppliers, but at this point there’s been no disruption.” Toyota, Subaru and Honda announced significant cutbacks to their production schedules at North American plants due to parts shortages, and this development has left Hyundai and Kia, already riding a wave of good fortune, in an even better position to capitalize on a currently rebounding market and changing perceptions about both brands.
