De Kia Telluride 2019 (2020) voegt zich bij de groeiende lijst van drie-rijige familie cross-overs, waardoor een robuuster gevoel wordt toegevoegd aan wat een vrij gevoelig schoensegment is geworden. Zijn slanke stijl en strakke lijnen betekenen zeker dat deze grote SUV vuil kan worden, hoewel het all-pedestrian vierwielaandrijvingssysteem en de gemiddelde bodemvrijheid erop zouden wijzen dat het vooral voor de show is. Of in ieder geval een grote sneeuwstortplaats. Het maakt niet uit, mensen dragen Mountain Hardwear bovenkleding en bezoeken zelden de bergen.

We zijn onder de indruk van de ruime cabine van de nieuwe Telluride, de indrukwekkende lijst van kenmerken en de vele doordachte en gezinsvriendelijke details, zoals USB-poorten bij elke rij en tweede-rij-stoelen die tegelijkertijd worden geschoven en gevouwen. Een knop. De Telluride is een echte uitbreiding van de SX-serie, die, in tegenstelling tot veel concurrenten, een echte luxe uitstraling en gevoel heeft. De goed afgeronde Telluride rijervaring en indrukwekkende prijs-prestatieverhouding vormen een aanvulling op een werkelijk aantrekkelijke drierijige SUV die serieuze aandacht verdient.

Telluride was niet te verwarren met iets anders. Het formaat wordt benadrukt door een unieke stijl, een doosstijl die veel uitstraling geeft, en eindigt met een goed detail, zoals een ongebruikelijke oranje trapeziumvormige lamp.

De exterieurstijl past bij het stijlvolle interieur, althans in het middensegment van de SX-modellen die wij rijden. Het houten en satijnmetalen dashboard en de deurpanelen zien er als het ware uit en alles voelt prima aan. De voorzetel is comfortabel en biedt veel verstelmogelijkheden. 10,25in touchscreen met sat-nav-aansluiting en Apple CarPlay / Android Auto zijn standaard in het hele assortiment.

U zult geen gebrek aan ruimte hebben, waar u ook zit. Zitplaatsen tot drie in de rugleuning maken Telluride’s passagierscapaciteit acht, afhankelijk van de vraag of u de tweede rij zitplaatsen of twee kapiteinsstoelen bepaalt. Echter, alleen kinderen die de achterbank voor een langere periode willen bezetten dan in de stad zijn nog steeds alleen.

Met de derde lijn naar beneden, zal grote platte laarzen slikken alles wat meestal wordt uitgebracht door gewone gezinnen. Daarmee beweert Kia dat de 601 liter bagageruimte nog steeds de belangrijkste klasse is.

We hebben geen problemen met de stuur- of remprestaties.

Moet ik Kia Telluride SX 2019 (2020) kopen?

De tijd is dat Kia een betrouwbaar en prijsgunstig alternatief biedt. Dit zal echter lang meegaan, want wie de grote Stinger ook heeft, zal getuigen. Telluride’s scherpe kapsels, hoogwaardige interieurs en goede manieren worden dienovereenkomstig gewaardeerd – volgens Piloten, Highlanders en Explorer.

      J.D. Power overhauls its Initial Quality Study for 2020, resulting in a shake-up that sees domestic brands having their best showing in years.

      Give it up for the local talent. J.D. Power has released its annual Initial Quality Study for 2020, and numerous domestic automakers have surged ahead this year. No less than half of the top 10 manufacturers are American, and one ties for the top spot overall.
      First, a note for anybody comparing 2019’s results to this: the vastly higher average number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) isn’t due to reduced reliability. “The higher problem levels we see in this year’s study don’t mean vehicle quality has worsened,” said Dave Sargent, VP of vehicle quality at J.D. Power, “rather, the redesigned study asks additional questions that allow owners to cite more of the problems that they are experiencing.”
      The IQ Study polls owners on various issues and problems they encounter in the first 90 days of new-car ownership. J.D. Power found infotainment to be the biggest hurdle across the board. Nearly 25 percent of all problems cited were due to things like smartphone connectivity, touchscreens, voice recognition, and navigation systems.
      With that out of the way, let’s get to those top makes, in ascending order.
      10. Hyundai

      We start with the largest Korean automaker. As a parent company (including Kia and Genesis) Hyundai scored the most segment-level wins with seven individual model awards. H-branded models to top their segment include the sporty Veloster and the compact Tucson crossover.

Both will come with a reimagined infotainment system—how well customers take to it will determine the brand’s 2021 ranking.

      FCA scores two podium finishes this year, with its Ram truck division tying for third. The American manufacturer completely re-did the 1500 for the 2019 model year, introducing more mature styling, mild-hybrid systems, and including the return of a light-duty diesel option. A big ol’ infotainment system sits right in the middle of the center console—in portrait orientation no less—but FCA’s Uconnect system is one of the best in the business.

Chevy’s crossover and SUV lineup also performed well, with segment podium spots for models including the Trax, Equinox, Blazer, and Tahoe.

Dodge has a two-pronged advantage here: it uses FCA’s intuitive Uconnect infotainment system, and most of its models, such as the Challenger, Charger, and Journey, have been in production for a long, long time. It’s given the American automaker plenty of time to target and fix any issues, and judging by this win, its work has paid off.

      Kia has released the first images of the fourth-generation Sedona—or Carnival in other markets—showing off a new, stately appearance.
      Begun, the minivan wars have. Chrysler fired the first salvo with the redesigned 2021 Pacifica. Then just a month ago, Toyota revealed the all-new, all-hybrid Sienna. Kia would not sit this one out, and it’s now provided the first look at the fourth-generation Sedona minivan.
      Loading … Technically, this isn’t the Sedona; it’s the Carnival, the name Kia’s people-mover uses in other markets. Also, unlike its competition, Kia has rid the Carnival/Sedona of the minivan name and insists on calling its new boxy people mover a “Grand Utility Vehicle’ possibly to accentuate its SUV-esque design lines. Before we get too excited about this absolute looker of a minivan, pardon, Grand Utility Vehicle, we would like to clarify that the Sedona will not be coming to the US this year. It will go on sale in South Korea in the third quarter of this year and will probably arrive in North America by late 2021 as a 2022 model. 

      Head-on, you can easily mistake the new Sedona for an SUV. It features short overhangs and a bold new face with a massive tiger-nose grille and the full-width LED DRLs. The massive grille along with the sculpted front bumper and the slightly flared wheel arches are all quintessential SUV design elements. Plus, the flush-fitting headlamps inside the grille give the Carnival an air of sophistication. The massive greenhouse, sliding doors, and the tall, boxy shape however are quintessential minivan. Plus, the shoulder line that extends from the headlamps to the tail lamps further emphasizes the van’s sheer size.

      It features a floating roof design while the C-pillar carries a chrome strip that extends into the rear of the car. The tailamps are an all-LED affair with an LED strip running the width of the tailgate.  Kia states that it features a longer wheelbase than before and will be more spacious than the current car. There are no images of the cabin available yet, but the “limousine” badge on the tailgate shows that the one pictured here is the top trim and will come with all bells and whistles. 
      Kia is also keeping mum about the specs but we think when it comes to the US, it will carry over its current 3.3-liter V6 and also add a hybrid powertrain to its lineup.

      Vorige week in etappes de Kia eNiro Gravity Blue Metallic aangepakt. Afgeleverd met een of andere vette laag, die er na twee wasbeurten goeddeels af was. De gebruikelijke stappen gedaan; weinig reactie op NonFerro en vervuiling achter voorwielen en achterklep. Polijsten met finale op wit. Het dak met Blackhole en EXP gedaan, de rest alleen EXP. Na de volgende wasbeurt Collinite  845 inmiddels erop gedaan.
