Kia released a teaser today of the Cross GT concept bound for next week’s 2013 Chicago Auto Show. The Cross GT will be larger than the new 2014 Sorento and will likely seat seven passengers; much like the upcoming long-wheelbase Hyundai Santa Fe. The styling of this new large crossover is said to represent the future of Kia’s design language. It still integrates the brand’s tiger nose grille, although it looks slightly revised in the illustration here. Joining the previously unveiled Justice League Concepts from Kia is a Superman-themed Optima Hybrid that will debut at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. In support of DC Entertainment’s campaign “We Can Be Heroes”, Kia has already built five character-themed vehicles: Batman Optima, Aquaman Rio, Flash Forte Koup, Green Lantern Soul, and Cyborg Forte. Of course the Korean automaker saved the best for last, giving Superman his own ride in the form of an Optima Hybrid. Kia has released pricing on its redesigned 2014 Sorento SUV, which debuted late last year at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. Compared to the 2013 base model Sorento, the 2014 model year will see a price increase of $1,000 to $24,950 including an $850 destination charge. The price increase is justified however by not only the exterior redesign, but a new engine and more optional comfort. According to the Korean automaker, more than 80 percent of its Sorento is new or significantly redesigned for the 2014 model year. The more luxurious and option-packed SX has a starting price of $35,850 while the top-of-the-line Limited FWD V6 will run $38,850. All-wheel drive is available as an option for all trim models for an additional $1,700. The 2014 Kia Sorento will go on sale later this year in winter. The new Kia pro_cee’d GT and cee’d GT – the brand’s most performance-focused production cars ever – will enjoy their world premieres at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show on March 5th. Designed in Europe under the direction of President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, the two debutants feature bold athletic styling, LED daytime running lights, dual-exhaust pipes, 18-inch alloy wheels and eye-catching red brake calipers. The new turbocharged 1.6-litre GDI gasoline engine will produce 204 ps and 265 Nm, powering the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and allowing the Kia pro_cee’d GT and cee’d GT to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds. Production of the newest members of cee’d family is scheduled to start at Kia’s Zilina plant in Slovakia in mid-May, and they will go on-sale across Europe from the middle of the year. The Volkswagen GTI just got a stylish new rival in the hot hatch segment… from Kia. With all the stylish good looks anyone could ask for, the oddly named 5-door cee’d and 3-door pro_cee’d models available in Europe will now get a hotter “GT” version with a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder under the hood making 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. Zelfs een gordelrevisiebedrijf kon mijn vraag niet beantwoorden ,mijn klaar terwijl u wacht APK-garage wel....Kogelsysteem is i.p. voldoende ,het door mij gedemonteerde systeem schakelt alleen in als kogel mogelijk niet werkt ,bijvoorbeeld bij een stop hellingopwaarts.Het grappige is volgens de APK garage dat de auto er wel mee goedgekeurd wordt, er moet bij een steekproef alleen aangetoond worden tijdens een rijproef dat de gordel op een horizontaal vlak blokkeert en dat doet ie .Maar de APK-garage adviseerde wel vervanging gezien de extra werking bij stop hellingopwaarts.Gordel is dus besteld. Looking like a coupe in the photo above, other angles clearly show higher-riding crossover elements, similar to the MINI Paceman. We all know someone out there who loves their car with more than just sentimental value. You know who we’re talking about, and it might even be you – the three-hour double coat waxing devotee who probably even nicknamed their ride like a sea boat captain. It’s OK, we’re car people and totally get it. There is definitely something going on between people and cars, so what if we could capture and turn these emotional connections into images? Kia Motors set out to do exactly that in a never before attempted project to visualize real-time emotions of driving through digital art. Our lab researchers teamed up with media artists to setup a special ‘Vehicle Research & Testing Lab.’ We put a set of drivers in the all-new Kia Cerato, hooked them up to physiological monitoring equipment, and let them hit the road while factoring in multiple variables into the driving equation such as speed and track conditions. Cerato Digital Croquis Art is Born So what were the results? Honestly, we got a bunch of squiggly lines, tons of zeroes and ones, and a lot of technical ‘mumbo-jumbo.’ Although all of this made plenty of sense to our lab researchers, it’s our team of media artists who transformed this output into a visual symphony they called “Cerato Digital Croquis Art” – a 3D digital art visualization that demonstrates how the driving experience and emotions stirred by the all-new Cerato can be brought to life. Van de krukas heb ik eerder gelezen. Ik durf niet te zeggen of dat voor deze auto ook geldt, is een 2e hands, is nu 1,5 jaar in bezit. Tot voor kort nooit problemen mee gehad.
