[See image gallery at www.autoguide.com] Photos of the Kia Optima Sportwagon have leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. First previewed by the Kia Sportspace concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, the production model keeps a similar footprint and overall design, although the front end isn’t as aggressive as the concept. Still, the Optima looks quite nice in wagon form. Unfortunately, there’s still no word if it will be offered in the U.S., but it seems unlikely considering how weak wagon sales are stateside. The Chicago Auto Show is typically a quiet event, as most automakers get their big debuts over with in Detroit. But because it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of debuts, some automakers save their reveals for the Windy City show. Still, the Chicago Show isn’t a flashy one, focusing on family cars and trucks rather than expensive luxury cars or exotics. Here are the Top 5 most significant debuts at this year’s show: 5. Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Chevrolet celebrated the return of the track-capable 1LE package to the Camaro in Chicago, but the biggest news is that it will be available on both V6 and V8 models. The 2017 Kia Niro has been unveiled as the Korean automaker’s first dedicated hybrid crossover. Making its global debut at the Chicago Auto Show, the Niro’s targeted fuel economy is an optimistic 50 mpg. Looking a lot like a subcompact version of the new Sportage, the Niro looks like a regular crossover, and Kia takes pride in the fact that its design doesn’t shout its hybrid status to the world. Although Kia has an Optima hybrid and the funky Soul EV, the Niro is the brand’s first dedicated hybrid, and it’s built on an all-new eco platform. Kia wants to triple its green car lineup in the next five years, and the Niro is the first step. Kia has already announced that …

In this year’s Super Bowl 50 ads, we saw everything from singing sheep, vegan bears, and even a few sentimental commercials that hit us in the feels. The Broncos ended up winning 24-10 over the Panthers, but even if you don’t care about sports, the ads were enough to keep you entertained. Here are our picks for the best and worst car commercials of Super Bowl 50: WINNER: Jeep – ‘Portraits’ Tugs at our heart strings, really zones in on Jeep’s historical importance in the military, and makes us feel patriotic. A poignant and effective spot. WINNER: Toyota ‘Heck on Wheels’ and ‘The Longest Chase’ Toyota doesn’t take itself too seriously and these ads are cheeky.…

Kia has unveiled its 2016 Super Bowl commercial starring Christopher Walken. The commercial starts off innocent enough, with a gentleman named Richard asking his wife where his beige socks are. Playing off the idea of a boring, beige “walk-in” closet, Walken talks about how beige socks are uninspired and asks whether Richard wants to just blend in through life like beige socks or wants to have some pizzazz. Walken then reveals the new Kia Optima, saying that it’s like “the world’s most exciting pair of socks.” SEE ALSO: 2016 Kia Optima Review It’s a pretty bizarre commercial, but a good watch nonetheless. Kia has released a teaser for its upcoming 2016 Super Bowl commercial. Last year, the Korean automaker enlisted the help of actor Pierce Brosnan to show off its Sorento, and this year Kia will focus on its Optima with the help of legendary Christopher Walken. The teaser doesn’t show too much, but Kia does give a hint as to what the full spot will focus on with the video’s description saying “Find what you’re looking for 02/07/16. #AddPizzazz. Kia is planning to build some new sports cars, including a hot hatch rival to the Ford Fiesta ST. First, Kia will launch the GT, a four-door coupe styled sports car that is expected to reach production in 2017. That will act as a halo sports car, under which will sit the already existing Optima GT, Procee’d GT, and the all-new Rio GT hot hatch. A 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 180 hp is expected to power the Rio GT, which will sit on an all-new lightweight platform. The new Kia Rio is expected to launch in 2017, so it is likely the GT will hit the market in 2018 or 2019. SEE ALSO: Kia GT Heading to US in 2016 as Audi A7 Rival Just like Hyundai’s upcoming…

[See image gallery at www.autoguide.com] Kia could be looking at adding a full-size crossover to its lineup. Making its debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show is the Kia Telluride concept and we wouldn’t blame you if it reminds you of the Volvo XC90 SUV. Built on a modified version of the Kia Sorento’s architecture, the design study is considerably larger than the Sorento – almost 10-inches longer and nearly five-inches wider. It is also four-inches taller and rolls on a wheelbase that has been stretched by almost an entire 12 inches. [See image gallery at www.autoguide.com] Remember the Kia Borrego? Neither does anyone at this South Korean automaker. It was a large, body-on-frame SUV that was only offered in the U.S. for a couple years. Despite its market failure, Kia may be developing a new full-size crossover. Making its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show, the brand’s Telluride concept previews what a future production model might look like. It features three rows of seats, rear-hinged back doors and room for up to seven passengers. Styling is upright and strong, reminding me of a mashup between Volvo’s new XC90 and a Ford Flex. [See image gallery at www.autoguide.com] The fourth-generation Kia Rio has been spied testing for the very first time. Kia just revealed its all-new Cadenza sedan by releasing a couple photos of the updated 2017 model. This large car is known as the K7 in its home market of South Korea. A shapely full-size four-door, it offers room for the whole family in a surprisingly stylish package. And much of the Cadenza’s design has been updated for the new model year.
