Nee, met stilstaande motor en afgekoelde sonde moet het signaal 0,45 volt zijn.Motor mag dan nog wel een klein beetje warm zijn, dat maakt niet uit.Overigens, op dit moment geeft de lambda-sonde geen enkele spanning af. De 0,45 Volt wordt erop gezet door de motor-ecu.Op deze manier kan de ecu zien of de sonde nog koud is. Als de sonde warm wordt, dan is deze sterk genoeg om het signaal te veranderen. Lees meer...

Lambda-sondes dienen altijd te regelen als ze opgewarmd zijn. Of dat nu stationair of bij verhoogd toerental is maakt niet uit.Uitzondering is tijdens volgas rijden, dan moet het signaal min of meer stabiel en boven de 0,6V zijn.Dat de signalen snel wisselen klopt, dit hoort zo. Hoe hoger het toerental, hoe sneller wisselen.Ik zie zo vlot 3 mogelijkheden: Lambda-sonde zelf defect of lekkage op het uitlaatspruitstuk of uitlaat voor de lambda-sonde of misfires in de motor. Ploffen in de uitlaat wijst op onverbrande benzine die in de uitlaat explodeert (heftiger dan verbranden) en dat is beslist niet goed voor de katalysator. 1e kontrole: Kijk of uitlaatspruitstuk en 1e stuk…

Hallo,Ik zit met een hortende en stotende KIA Pride. Probleem op LPG en benzine aanwezig.Als ik meet direct op de lambda sonde dan pendelt er niets. Weet ook niet of deze dat stationair hoort te doen of niet.Onder rijbelasting pendelt ie ook niet.Ik zie wel dat signaal meestal laag is ( onder de 0,1 volt ) en bij gasgeven iets omhooggaat. Echter na klein beetjegas bij het gas loslaten geeft snelle piek naar 0,5 volt. Valt me ook dat sowieso die signalen erg snel wisselen ookal merk je aan het lopen van de motor geen verschil.Bijspuiten met remmenreiniger doet de waarde iets verhogen bij stationair toerental. Without having the actual car and before running some tests on it I am also not sure.95 out of 100 times it will be a catalyst broken, but there are the other 5 times.And yes a lambda sensor is the same as an Oxygen sensor or O2 sensor.In the Dutch language the name is lambda sensor, in the English language it is usually called an Oxygen sensor. Thank you very much for your immediate answers all these days. You ve been really helpfull.No actually this is what the first garage gave me (P01421).I had my labda sensor (guess this is the o2 sensor) changed but from what i was told fromt the (1st garage) they physically inspected the catalysts and they were both borken and still get the check engine light signal.However i didnt understand why in the second garage they are not sure.that is getting crazy. I have contacted a kia dealer in italy and they probably will provide me with generic katalysators so i hope that will solve the problem. My car has only 95000km and driven in normal roads so i dont understand how two c…

P01421 does not exist. A P-code has a P and 4 digits, not 5.If you made a typing error and meant P0421 that's definitely Catalyst defective.Code description here: www.dtcsearch.comUsually this code means that the catalyst is defective.However, there's always a small chance this is caused because an Oxygen sensor sends a false signal.This can happen when the exhaust is leak between the catalyst and this Oxygen sensor. Ik ben op dit moment bezig met vervangen distributie en spanrol. In de timing zat behoorlijke afwijking! Schat ongeveer 5 graden op de nokkenas. Nu bezig met spanrol, maar dat is blijkbaar geen automatische? Paar keer ronddraaien en dan aandraaien. Deze is niet na afmonteren nog zelfstellend ... toch?Mocht de auto na deze ingreep nog vreemd doen, dan ga ik niet naar KIA in Woerden maar kom zeker jouw kant op. Bij de KIA hier hadden ze alleen nog ervaring met de nieuwere auto's van KIA. Verder hebben ze al wel eens geholpen om de auto uit te lezen, maar gaf geen foutcodes. Lees meer...

Auto blijft vreemd lopen. Ik heb ontstekingstijdstip gecontroleerd en ik heb het idee dat daar iets mis is. Lijkt wel of de timing tussen kruk en nokkenas is verlopen? thanks a lot for your input. I think i will go to a second garage to check it once more as you suggest. However i think if the problem is true that i will fix it..besides who will buy it with a problem?or better at what price?I am not of this people that know how to cheat or would cheat even if i could.But truth is kia sorento at least the model i have is a quite problematic car. You have one chance:Go to an independent garage and let them do the APK.2 choices: don't tell them anything and see what they say about the quality of the exhaust gasses,or tell them the problem and get the readings from both the gas-test and the codes read from the car.With any luck the gasses will still pass the test and you can drive on for another year and sell the car. i am sorry for not opening a new thread.I didnt know, and thank you very much for your reply. The engine light is on. I went to a garage changed the lambda sensor, and while i was not given the codes, (they said that they performed the reading) and* they physically inspected the catalysers. According to them they are both broken and they dont give me a new APK.I dont plan to own the car for more than 8 months as I will be leaving the country and for tax purposes i cant take it with me thus 2500 euros is a lot of money for me at least to put new catalysers. I found some sites with used cats that give guarantee but it is really hard to find some.Once more my apologies for p…

Excuse me for writing in english but my dutch is very limited as i havent been to netherlands for too long.I own a kia sorento as well 2003 (2.4l benzene), the check engine light (orange) is constantly on for a month now. I went to a garage and they told me that according to the reading they performed was the lamba sensor. After i changed it, the engine light continued to be on. They performed a second reading and they found that my both catalysers had a problem. They told me that they physically inspected the catalysers and they were both broken.Now after having paid already ~600 euros for inspection etc... they tell me that the new katalysators + the work would cost me …

nikokons, next time please open a new topic of your own.Basically you get the same reply as the first poster.You need to spend some money to see if one or both of the cats are really broken.If the engine light (MIL) is on, then there's a fault code present. If you post the number(s) of these codes that helps.If you don't have them, get the codes read by a dealer or independent garage.You can also have a independent garage perform an exhaust gas test for you.Need to know the numbers for CO, CO2, HC, O2 and Lambda on idle and around 3000rpm.Are you planning on owning this car for a number of years to come or not?Used cats will brake up faster then new ones, the same goes fo…

Kleppen net gecontroleerd, maar die stonden nog wel ok. Een enkele uitlaat iets te ruim (0,35 ). Nu alles keurig 0,30.Ik zie INDERDAAD dat de slangetjes bepaald niet meer nieuw zijn.
